How Microneedling Minimizes Lines and Wrinkles

Designed to increase the vitality of facial skin and improve its clinical health, microneedling is a safe, simple, effective, and minimally invasive technique that was developed to rejuvenate the skin.

Before and After with ProCell Microneedling Procedure

The original concept, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), involved repeated microneedling that deliberately damaged the skin so that tissue repair would be triggered by the very powerful natural wound-healing ability of the body. Whether rollers or pens were used, the process produced natural collagen, which is contained naturally in healthy skin, giving it flexibility, elasticity, volume, and strength. As the skin ages, collagen breaks down, causing wrinkles and facial lines because the skin doesn’t have natural elasticity and volume.

But science and technology are constantly evolving, and collagen stimulation has become much more sophisticated and effective.

New Microneedling Technology

The latest microneedling technology uses human growth-factor serums and stem cells to reduce the signs of aging skin including fine lines and wrinkles. More specifically, Procell™ MicroChanneling & Stem Cell Therapy creates minute, invisible-to-the-eye micro-channels and, instead of simply damaging the skin to induce the production of collagen, it stimulates stem cells in the skin and immune system. Elastin is also produced, helping to improve the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Above all else, the process is gentler and more effective.

Even though there is very little damage to the skin, the newer microchanneling process stimulates the same natural wound-healing response that results in the release of proteins in the form of stem cytokines and potent peptides, and generates new, healthy epidermal growth. Not only does it minimize lines and wrinkles but it also works to get rid of acne scarring, stretch marks, and burn scars.

In essence, scientifically improved microchanneling is microneedling at its best!

Additionally, there are specialized products that, used during and after the new microneedling stem cell therapy, accelerate the production of hyaluronic acid, which, like collagen, is found naturally in the body. Like collagen, hyaluronic acid adds volume to the skin and it also hydrates it, helping to make it look younger and considerably more healthy.

Even a single treatment usually improves the quality of a patient’s skin, but it is generally recommended that six treatments spaced a month apart are undertaken for more permanent improvement. It is an accepted fact that monthly treatments are more likely to result in a dramatic improvement in the tone of facial skin, as well as its elasticity, firmness, smoothness, and even its sensitivity. The skin tends to thicken after two or three treatments making the results more noticeable. At least six treatments are generally recommended for wrinkles and laxity.

Microneedling at The AgeLess Center

The AgeLess Center now offers Procell MicroChanneling as our preferred microneedling procedure. During treatment, we use the Livra Microchannel Delivery Solution that contains hyaluronic acid and stem cytokines. Both are ingredients that occur naturally in the skin and help to reduce inflammation.

As part of our post-care treatment, we use the Livra Cellular Renewal Serum and Livra Healing Accelerator both of which also contain hyaluronic acid, stem cytokines, and much, much more. The “hero” ingredient in these products is taken from human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells that basically control the healing process when human tissue, including the skin, is injured in any way.
